Xandros sells out to Microsoft over patents

By Limulus

Something of a repeat of the Novell deal; Xandros signed up for the protection racket too. Read more at Groklaw. Xandros forum users aren’t happy; those emigrating away from the now-MS-approved distro tend to prefer PCLinuxOS or Ubuntu.

Bonus links: John McCain is insane ;) and Microsoft threatens one of its MVPs.

Update: WTF?!?

[Xandros CEO Andreas Typaldos] told Network World that at no time did Microsoft reveal to Xandros, which develops Linux desktops, servers and management tools, any of the 235 patents that Microsoft says Linux violates.

Can anyone seriously claim that MS *isn’t* running a protection racket?
